WINE TASTING AT CASA DOS VINHOS ENCOSTAS DE XIRA

The Quinta de Subserra houses the Casa dos Vinhos Encostas de Xira, with a production of about five hectares cultivated on a slope facing east. The production of the Casa, a project by the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira that proposes to serve as the council’s ambassador in what concerns gastronomy and tourism, is based on eight vineyard plots, including white varieties (Arinto, Fernão Pires and Moscatel), and red varieties (Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Syrah). The House guarantees red wines with prolonged maceration in wine presses, with a ruby red chromatic intensity combined with a nose of intense black fruits, and elegant and fresh white wines with a smooth and round aftertaste.

FORTE DA AJUDA GRANDE

Located north of Bucelas, near the village of Alrota, it is part of the Second Defensive Line and integrates a set of fortifications that protected the territory between the Tagus and the Bucelas gorge, crossed by the roads from Vila Franca to Alverca and from Sobral to Tojal, passing through Arranhó and Bucelas. With a composite plan, consisting of two coupled bastions, with three accesses, it is protected by a ditch at some points excavated in the rock. It is a great place to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

TRANCÃO RIVERSIDE PROMENADE

Accompanying the river Trancão for about four kilometres, the new pedestrian and cycling route in Bucelas extends from the Furadouro bridge to Freixial, allowing for the enjoyment of a riverside space until recently inaccessible. Discover the promenade and let yourself be surprised by its pleasant rural environment, while enjoying nature and the outdoors.
