Birdwatching

The Tapada Nacional near Mafra provides a wonderful habitat for larger birds of prey. The Bonelli Eagle, the Goshawk, the Eurasian Eagle Owl and the Honey Buzzard can also be observed from the hides at: the riverbanks at Cheleiros and Carvalhal; the Senhora da Ò valley and Foz do Lizandro; the beaches from Ericeira to Ribeira d’Ilhas; Charneca, Messapez point, Talefe.
