BUCELAS TOWN CHURCH, NOSSA SENHORA DA PURIFICAÇÃO

There are many reasons to visit Bucelas: the excellent regional wine, the countryside, the picturesque town surrounded by vineyards on the doorstep of Lisbon, but many visitors do not know that it boasts a religious building of great artistic interest – Our Lady of Purification church. Built in the 16th century, this church occupies a prominent position in the centre of the town. The plainness of its exterior belies the artistic opulence of the interior.
